About Wheatens
The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is medium sized, hardy, well balanced sporting terrier. They are distinguished by their soft , silky, gentle waving coat of warm wheaten color and their particularly steady disposition. Wheaten temperament is very unique. They are alert, affectionate and very playful, but not hyper. They seldom bark without good cause and never meet a stranger. Thus comes the term ” A Wheaten Greetin”. They relate well with children and adapt well to most living conditions, just as long as they are close to their people and receive daily exercise. The Wheaten is single coated and sheds minimally, but need regular grooming to keep their coats mat free. Unless, you choose to keep them in a short puppy cut, which requires much less maintanence.
